Our Story

Ethiopia, known for its thirteen months of sunshine, is where all of our beautiful products are made.

Behind Thirteen Months are Simone, Sophia, and Leah - three sisters from London with a Dutch-born, Polish father and Ethiopian mother.

Growing up we were surrounded by beautiful products in our household from our family trips to Ethiopia. We return to Ethiopia - our second home - as often as possible to visit family, explore the cultural richness and see our Master Weavers in action.

Our mission is to celebrate a part of our heritage through the traditional Ethiopian craft of weaving, bringing it to the modern home in bold, beautiful colours.

Ethical practice is essential to us at Thirteen Months. We care about the people behind our products, and our supply chain prioritises good working conditions and fair salaries.

Sustainability is equally important to us, and at every step we seek to reduce waste. This includes upcycling surplus materials to create new products, as well as using packaging that is both recycled and recyclable.
